Sumit Banerjee is the Vice Chairman of Reliance Cement Co. Pvt. Ltd. Prior to this he was the Managing Director of ACC Limited from April 1, 2007. He served as the Managing Director of Tube Investments of India Limited before joining ACC.
Born in 1956, Mr Banerjee did B.Tech (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He started his career with India’s Engineering giant Larsen & Toubro Limited where he got rich experience in sales and execution of projects in steel and energy sectors. He moved to Indal, then a part of the global aluminium giant Alcan, where he was Chief Executive of Sheet Business, Indal’s largest Strategic Business Unit. This Company was acquired by (and merged into) Hindalco in 2003/04.
Mr Banerjee’s varied exposure in general management, engineering and projects has helped him assume the leadership role at Reliance Cement with ease. His agenda for the company is to steer it from Project mode to one of the top three Cement companies in India.
Arvind Pathak is the CEO of Reliance Cement Co. Private Limited. He has worked with Reliance ADA since 2008, having joined the company as Business Head – Cement. Mr. Pathak provides a spectrum of guidance on business divisions including strategic planning, operational execution, developing projects, sales, logistics, finance and HR.
Mr Pathak has almost 30 years of in-depth experience in the cement industry, covering plant operations and project execution, and has headed both individual business units and the cement sector in toto. Mr. Pathak has also been involved with managing projects, operations and logistics such as debottlenecking in large capacity state-of-the-art cement projects / plants, including Greenfield, Brownfield units.
He holds a B. Tech. (Honors) in Electrical Engineering from Institute of Technology, Benares Hindu University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from N.I.T.I.E.
Bimal Roy is the Senior Vice President - HR at Reliance Cement. Mr. Roy joined the Reliance group in 2008 as Vice President-HR at Reliance Power Ltd. and subsequently moved within the group company to Reliance Infrastructure Ltd.
With around 30 years of experience in reputed organisations across industry verticals, Mr. Roy has gained in-depth knowledge in the areas of HRM/HRD, Strategy Planning and OD Interventions.
Mr. Roy holds a Masters degree in Social Work from MS University, Vadodara and a B.Sc. degree from Rajasthan University, Ajmer. He also holds a diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from Sister Nivedita College, Kolkata.
Dr. A K Singh is Reliance Cement’s Vice President and Head – Corporate Environment, OHS & CSR.A PhD in Bio Science with specialization in Environmental Pollution, Dr. Singh provides guidance across all environmental impact assessment studies. Before joining Reliance Cement, Dr. Singh worked at reputed entities like Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd. as General Manager, Atlas Cycle Industries Ltd as a Dy. Manager and the Central Pollution Control Board’s Pollution Control Implementation (Chemical and Petrochemicals) Division as a JSA.
An author of repute, Dr. Singh has published environmental study and research papers in major publications and has submitted special research papers at industry seminars across the globe.
Responsible to develop plan for the construction of limestone mines, based on the approved mining plan . Design the same based on geological surveys and maps. Location and development of shafts, tunnels, chambers, position of excavation benches (levels), and access roads. Oversees the design of facility projects for mines, such as water and power supply ventilation system, Drainage, rail and conveyor systems material cleaning, grading, and reduction systems.
Responsible for setting up Cement Plant at Maihar and Blending Unit at Gondawali within the required time frame, maintaining safety and quality. Land procurement: Purchase, direct negotiation and land acquisition through Government. Statutory clearances as well as all liaison activities with bureaucracy, police & politicians.
Initial Organizational set up. Project work to the extend to make it operational. Run the Plant as UNIT HEAD with business prosperity. Development of result oriented (multi purpose trained) team. Managing men, material, environment, plant operation, logistics, safety & security.
Mr V.V. Subrahmanyam is Vice President ( Electrical and Instrumentation) heading the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering function at Reliance Cement. He joined the company in April 2010 and has led the E&I function since then.
Prior to his stint at Reliance Cement, Mr Subrahmanyam served as Chief General Manager (Projects) in Bharathi Cement Corporation Ltd, Chief Manager in ACC Ltd and Junior Plant Manager in Neyveli Lignite Corporation. He has spearheaded the erection, testing & commissioning of the electrical installation of cement plant at Chaibasa, Wadi and Madukkarai. He was also instrumental in leading the complete execution of Bulk Cement Loading terminal at Wadi, Flyash handling unit at Raichur and E&I installation at New Wadi Plant Project.
Mr Subrahmanyam is a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
Mr. H. S. Patel is Head - Business Development (Project Development) at Reliance Cement Company Pvt. Ltd. He is a seasoned professional with 37 years of experience in Cement Plant Management/Operations, Port Management/Operation, Project Development & Executions, Public Relations & Liasoning, Commercial and Community Development Management (CSR).
Prior to joining Reliance Cement, Mr. H S Patel served as a Unit Head – Ambuja Cements Limited at Ambujanagar (Gujarat) (Including Satellite Grinding Units/Bulk Cement Terminals at Surat, Panvel & Cochin). Mr H S Patel has served with distinction across reputed organisations like Larsen & Toubro Limited, Narmada Cement Co. Limited and Digvijay Cement Co. Limited.
Mr. H S Patel is an MTech (Chemical Engineering) from IIT, Powai. He also holds a B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) from the University College of Technology at Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Mr. Parihar is incharge of the projects for design and implementation of O&M activities at Reliance Cement Company Pvt. Ltd. He brings with him a rich experience of 30 years with expertise in strategic planning, scheduling, executing and spearheading numerous in house innovations and resource administration, with a flair for adopting modern methodologies in compliance with quality & statutory standards.
Prior to joining Reliance Cement, Mr. Parihar served as a Unit Head with CK Birla Group Company. Mr Parihar has also been with reputed organisations like Rajashree Cement (An Aditya Birla group Co), Shree Digvijay Cement Company Ltd and Diamond Cement.
Mr. Parihar is a B.Tech. Chemical Engineering from HBTI, Kanpur. He was a part of the IIM Ahmedabad, CK Birla Group Executive- Leadership Development Program in 2006. Mr Parihar has successfully completed QCX & Operation Training from FLS, DENMARK & ARL –SWITZERLAND besides other TPM , TQM and Other Management Development Programmes.
